Susan M. Keil DVM, MS, DACVO

Like many veterinary practices during the COVID-19 concerns, Keil Veterinary Ophthalmology remains open with modifications to our hours and our client / patient protocols.  We are continuing to evaluate consults (new patients) given essentially all of our new patients are dealing with painful, complicated, and/or vision threatening disease.  We are also evaluating our current patients with problems or flaring disease.  We encourage clients with pets that have stable, controlled disease, to push their appointments back until April 22, minimum.

We are closely monitoring the developments surrounding COVID-19, and instituting changes as necessary as the situation evolves.

Currently we require clients to stay in their vehicle and call us when they arrive (appointment or drug refill pick-up).  A staff member will ask about the client's health and recent travel.  Note, depending on the fluctuating nationwide hotbed areas of disease, KVO reserves the right to not evaluate a client's pet based on the client's replies.  We will then obtain the patient history and credit card number for payment. Currently, we are not accepting cash or check.  We will then come out to get the pet, asking the client to stand outside of the car, with their pet on a leash or in a carrier. We will use our own leash to take the pet inside. If their pet is in a carrier, we ask that they sanitize it before we take it into the clinic.

Medications can be refilled by calling ahead and paying with a credit card. Medication refills will be brought out to the car, or we can mail them (with an added, but reduced, shipping fee).  We do request all medication refills be called in ahead  of time.

Beginning 3/30 the clinic will be open 8:30 a.m - 4 p.m M-Th.
We will be closed on Friday. We will modify further if needed, based on case load, and local and national guidelines.
